Armedia Awarded Certification in the U.S. Small Business AdministrationÂ’s 8(a) Business Development Program

During participation in the program, Armedia will receive business development assistance from an assigned Business Opportunity Specialist. Furthermore, Armedia will be eligible to participate in bidding for 8(a) set-aside contracts. “The 8(a) certification will allow our clients to get the same exceptional service while meeting their goals of fostering small businesses” says James Bailey, CFO for Armedia.

Armedia has also been certified as a Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) in the Federal GovernmentÂ’s SDB program. This program provides support for government contractors, access to capital, management and technical assistance, and export assistance. The goal of the SBA is to promote community in neighborhoods, create jobs, and encourage economic growth by building community-based small businesses. SBA uses a number of assistance intervention tools, ranging from contract support to low-interest loans for site acquisition, construction, and the purchase of new or upgraded equipment.

The U.S. Small Business Administration, http://www.sba.gov, has been providing assistance to small businesses for over 50 years. Their goal is provide support for entrepreneurships to inspire creativity and promote empowerment of the entrepreneurial spirit. The SBA encourages an environment where small businesses can succeed.
